In my work with children impacted by domestic violence or abuse, my goal is to create a space where they feel safe, seen, and supported. Many children carry complex feelings such as fear, confusion, guilt, or anger, and often have difficulty expressing what they have experienced. At Manhattan Play Therapy, I use gentle, creative approaches like play, art, movement, and storytelling to help children process their emotions in a developmentally supportive way.
Our team is trauma-informed and collaborates closely with caregivers to foster stability, emotional safety, and communication within the family. Therapy may focus on developing emotional language, supporting body awareness, and helping the child rebuild a sense of control. Whether a child is processing recent experiences or long-standing trauma, we offer care that centers on compassion, patience, and trust.
